A new solution for concrete formwork

Our HDPE Formworks are made from sheets of High-Density Polyurethane, cut and welded in the same way as their steel counterparts - they are as strong as steel and far more efficient!

Changes in the water supply and sewerage industry introduced the lining of sewer manholes with HDPE plastic.

When fitted to the formwork, inners started being cast into the internal manhole walls to protect the concrete from sewage gases; replacing Ultra High Build Epoxy coatings.

During the preparation and welding of the plastic liners, it became evident that any concrete spills or splashes from overflow would be easily wiped off by hand, leaving the surface as clean and shiny as before it was cast in place and before we started welding. The idea to use HDPE in the construction of formwork was born.

Research, design and material sourcing took place over a couple of years before we built a 1050mm Manhole inner and outer prototype at 1500mm high to test as a prototype on a number of manholes on a small development.

With numerous (successful) trials pressure testing in extreme conditions, the prototype pronounced the product to be 'Bloody Brilliant' by industry representatives.

Plastic Formwork is fully accredited by Australia’s leading national accreditation body, NATA.
